Wow, sounds like a pretty good film, but man could the reviewer hold their disgust for "film preservation" and an old dude flogging his, "personal cause". Its as if this was a 2-bit director shilling for a line of action figures from his past films. Gee whiz, how many of us know much of anything about the truly early stages of film history? It was just a 100 years ago - five, fresh-faced 20 year-olds stacked on each other - imagine their respective chronological views.I have my doubts about 3-D and I can quibble with the best of them about Scorsese's oeuvre, but you've got to give it up for a guy who's cranked out a ton of movies, many excellent and transformative ones in the process; who embraces his young colleagues and seems genuinely focused, thoughtful and hopeful about the future of film.
