The Bay Area was the center of the mid-'90s punk explosion. Not only did we birth the big three — Green Day, Rancid, NOFX — but San Francisco's Fat Wreck Chords gave the world some of the brightest and best that pop-punk had to offer. This includes, of course, the local heroes of Lagwagon, who will be celebrating the release of a box set (featuring everything the band has ever recorded — praise be!) onstage this week. And, as anyone who's ever caught Lagwagon's previous performances at Slim's will tell you, it's always a party, and it's usually sold out — so make sure you get your tickets in advance.
