There’s the one where you’re drowning, or the one where you’re being chased down the endless hallway. Then there’s falling, which is terrifying right up until you’re startled awake in the same chair you fell asleep in a few hours before. At “We Dream in the Daytime Too,” all of that emotion and symbolism that the conscious mind doesn’t process from world of dreams is dredged up by 17 visual artists who have crafted works inspired by the true experiences submitted by more than 50 people from across the U.S. The idea behind it is that we can live fuller lives through a conscious understanding of those unconscious messages our brains transmit in sleep. The exhibition also features interactive digital dream interpretation, compendium publication of dreams and the work they inspired, and even dream-inspired food.
