Two of the best modern purveyors of retrograde psychedelic blues-rock have teamed up for a tour that should have bong-wielding Hessians across the Bay Area salivating with anticipation. Formed in Gothenburg in 2006, Swedish quartet Graveyard came into its own with last year's unabashedly analog effort Hisingen Blues. Powered by the soulful howl of singer/guitarist Joakim Nilsson and an arsenal of blistering riffs that recall Cactus, Cream, and Blue Cheer, the album rightfully ended up on numerous best of 2011 lists. Despite a recent onstage meltdown that left Radio Moscow main man Parker Griggs with 14 stitches on his forehead and no rhythm section, the gruff-voiced guitar phenom brings a new lineup and wailing tunes from the power trio's The Great Escape of Leslie Magnafuzz when the two bands land at Slim's.
