As head of the Trouble and Bass label, Luca "Drop the Lime" Venezia makes punch-drunk, fidgety tracks with the stuttering swing of rockabilly and the wonky, hard-hitting low end of grimy club music. Based out of Brooklyn, Venezia draws from the historical gamut of bowel-churning, hip-swiveling frequencies rather than any one particular influence. His tracks fuse Miami bass, Baltimore club, Detroit ghettotech and South London dubstep with dancehall, U.K. garage, 4x4 house, breakbeat hardcore, and old-fashioned rhythm and blues. The result is a bruising raid of serpentine bass topped with live vocals.
