There are two kinds of music: classical, or "art music," and pop music. And they're fundamentally different and separate. Right? Wrong. For five years, San Francisco's Switchboard Festival has been blurring the lines between the supposedly distinct worlds of art and pop by featuring artists whose work draws inspiration from both. This year's all-day event features Beep — the delightfully playful avant-jazz trio fronted by Nate Brenner, who also plays in the breakout indie act tUnE-yArDs — as well as numerous Bay Area artists whose music is too creative to be neatly categorized. Catch Beep, Cornelius Boots & Friends, Dan Cantrell, Dominique Leone, Danny Holt, Faun Fables, Ramon and Jessica, and many more at the fifth annual Switchboard Festival
