If pairing food and music is the next big thing in San Francisco, one could do worse than Oysterfest, an annual party coming to Golden Gate Park that matches the radio-friendly indie rock of headliner Young the Giant with oceanic delights from some of the Bay Area's best oyster farms. Musical highlights will include YtG's catchy-if-bland distillation of '90s-alternative, the more adventurous prog-pop of Minus the Bear, and a sure-to-be-excellent DJ set from Live 105 Music Director Aaron Axelsen. (Manchester Orchestra and Little Hurricane also play.) Along with lots and lots of oysters, there will be barbecue from Big Jim's, fish tacos from Gustavo's, and cheesesteaks from Boardroom on hand.
