More About

At last year’s BYOQ (Bring Your Own Queer), a cute stranger taught us how to booty bounce against the stage of Golden Gate Park’s historical Bandshell Pavilion. We are now convinced the bandshell is meant solely for glitter-loads of hot queers and their allies. BYOQ is an all-day festival that celebrates queer organizations, bike doctors, electronic musicians, DJs, and performance artists in a space where queers aren’t likely to congregate. In the past, BYOQ was (amazingly) organized by one person, but now it has back up from the likes of Hard French, Honey Soundsystem, Darling Nikki, Dial Up, Faetopia, and more, so expect today’s event to be bigger and queerer than ever. Adding to the festivities are the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Celeste Chan, Ali Liebegott, Jiggalicious Dance Babes, and Queers for Gears. If the music is as fearless as last year’s, prepare to cut a rug at this party with neighborhood flavor. DJs and musicians Edaj, Adonisaurus, Carrie Morrison, and Darling Gunsel tend to your ears and work your bodies.
