He might not have a medical degree, but Dr. Dunks (aka Eric Duncan) should have a Ph.D. in the art of partying. Raised in L.A., he began his career in the late '80s as a hip-hop obsessive, but was later propelled towards the wild world of raving via a mind-blowing encounter with DJ Harvey during San Francisco's '90s heyday. Since then, Duncan has become a prolific producer and re-editor behind such renowned disco-leaning projects as Rub N' Tug, Still Going, and C.O.M.B.I. "Expect a HOT AND SLEAZY mix of DISCO, HOUSE, and SOUL, with a FAST AND LOOSE style of DJing that relies as much on ready supplies of JACK DANIELS as it does on technical ability," says the Facebook page for Face Party, the host of Dr. Dunks' upcoming S.F. appearance. Sounds about right.
