As the saying goes, "Wrong music, wrong place, wrong night ... three wrongs make it right!" At least, that's the tagline Sweater Funk used to go by when it set up shop in the grimy basement of Chinatown's Li Po Lounge. Since then, things have changed for the city's premier '80s funk party. Its new digs at the Elbo Room and Knockout attract huge crowds that manage to dwarf Sweater Funk's impressive 13-person resident DJ roster. Now celebrating four years preaching the gospel, it's convening at the Elbo Room for a Saturday night massive featuring its entire extended family and a collection of rare vinyl, the value of which would make an investment banker blush. With hosting provided by KPOO personality K-Maxx, you're in the right hands if you like your music slow, vocoded, and funky.
