Come out and show some love for the youngest and brightest generation of up-and-coming artists and performers at the second annual San Francisco Youth Arts Summit. Youth leaders from prominent San Francisco youth advocacy groups have joined forces to showcase young artists' works which, span all realms of artistic expression. The event is organized by the Out of Site Youth Arts Center, a nonprofit that provides free visual and performing arts programs and paid internships for public high school students. The summit features a full day of interactive and unique art-related events, including poetry, theater, printmaking, and video workshops with WritersCorps, S.F. Mime Troupe, Chrysalis Studio, and TILT. You can even create your own art, such as prints to trade through Out of Site’s bartering bank and ATM (Art That Matters), or your own stop-motion video led by the Children's Creativity Museum’s C.I.T.Y. Teen Program. Spontaneous performances and film screenings will be happening throughout the day, and the event culminates with a performance competition, open to all high school students, for the chance to win cash prizes.
