KronnerBurger: A Bloody Good Pop-Up

Former Bar Tartine and Serpentine chef Chris Kronner is making burgers these days, and they aren't your average versions of beef and cheese on a bun. A KronnerBurger is served rare (like, bloody rare), set on a sturdy bun, and spread with a slather of cheddar aioli, and a dollop of bone marrow if you so choose. It's a bite that takes all the familiar burger flavors and remixes them into something new. We recently had the pleasure of eating one at a fundraiser event at Bar Tartine, and if the line out the door and down Valencia was any indication, KronnerBurger is about to hit the big time.

Kronner has been serving KronnerBurgers, crab burgers, veggie burgers, french fries, and a few other bone marrow creations at Bruno's in the Mission since Thanksgiving weekend, joined by guest bartenders like Gabriel Lowe of Locanda who are creating special cocktail lists to pair with the food.

Stop by Bruno's (2379 Mission) Fridays and Saturdays from 4:30 to 8 p.m., and Sundays and Mondays from 6 p.m. until late. Kronner will be slinging burgers there for the foreseeable future — at least until he opens his own burger joint next year. Rumors abound about a location on Polk or in the Mission (or maybe both!); we just can't wait to see what the next era of KronnerBurger brings.
