A note from the killers is found on the corpse, addressed to Colonel Otto Skorzeny, Hitler's favorite commando. It says simply: "We are coming for you. Await our call." Or so begins the premise of author and L.A. Times Book Prize recipient Stuart Neville’s latest novel Ratlines. The story follows one Lieutenant Albert Ryan into the dark world of Nazi collaborators in 1960s Ireland as he attempts to solve the murder and protect victim-in-waiting Skorzeny. With the novel hailed as "wildly entertaining,” by Ken Bruen and “fast, furious, bloody and good," by Ian Rankin, it’s easy to see why Neville was invited to Litquake’s Epicenter. The Irish author is joined in conversation by Bay Area’s own Cara Black, author of the best-selling Aime Leduc detective series.
