Rock of Love

When we were just angsty pre-teens in thrift store tie-dye, we dreamed of traveling to the mystical land of San Francisco, to live in a commune, raise goats on a fire escape, and fight The Man. How tragic it was to discover when we actually moved here that iconic Haight-Ashbury was filled with used condoms and broken dreams instead of peace and love. But hope is not lost! You can still revel in the glory of the Age of Aquarius. TheTRIBE Productions presents the wildly popular Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, directed by Christopher Chase and hot off of a Hollywood run. The first ever concept musical, Hair pushes the boundaries of musical theater and blurs the line between past and present, audience and performer. If the prospect of reliving the ’60s is not enough to get you running for your rainbow afros, the show also includes “simulated drug use, smoking, nudity, profanity, questioning of religion, drag, blatant sexual positioning, refusal of authority, energy, love, beads, flowers, and happiness.” Can you dig it?
