It's pretty rare for a queer (and queer-friendly) literary showcase to last a decade, and even rarer when the host (powerhouse Michelle Tea) bakes you cookies to sweeten the deal. Since its inception in 2003, the monthly Radar Reading Series has hosted over 700 emerging and underground writers and artists -- from local zinesters you've never heard of to big wigs like Dorothy Allison and Armistead Maupin. This month's installation features Nicole J Georges, who's reading from her just-published autobiographical graphic novel, Calling Dr. Laura, in which Georges discovers, with the help of Dr. Laura and a psychic, that the father her family told her was dead is not. Also reading are essayist and civil rights lawyer Amrit Donaldson, poet Arisa White, who's the 2012 winner of the San Francisco Book Festival Award, and T Cooper, whose new book Real Man Adventures details his experiences as a trans man in zine format, with lists, anecdotes, and interviews.
