Shhh

When you live in a bustling metropolis, even one as eco-friendly as San Francisco, the magic of seclusion and returning to the tranquility of nature, resonate deeply. This wonder, entombed in Frances Hodgson Burnett’s novel The Secret Garden, is the subject of the San Francisco Opera’s upcoming premiere and a series of related programs presented jointly with the San Francisco Botanical Garden. This weekend, families with children ages 5-12 are invited to discover the secret pleasures of solitude through the Secret Garden Scavenger Hunt. Escape through the corners of a city treasure and, like Mary Lennox, find your own slice of serenity in a journey through some truly remarkable scenery. A collection of family workshops, art projects, and other activities are also available for free with admission. The Secret Garden program promises a unique opportunity to rediscover the hidden pleasures that lay within our city walls.
