b. patisserie: After more than a year of pop-ups, pastry chef extraordinaire Belinda Leong has opened a Pacific Heights bakery peddling her luscious French pastries, including candy-colored macarons and the buttery, lusted-after kouign amann. 2821 California, 440-1700.

Curry Up Now: The super-popular food truck lands a permanent home in the Valencia corridor. Expect the truck's signature Indian-flavored burritos along with thalis, deconstructed samosas, burgers, open-faced naan sandwiches, and more. 659 Valencia, (650) 477-1001, curryupnow.com.

Fable: The Castro's newest New American restaurant has whimsical decor (reclaimed wood wallpaper, portraits of characters from Aesop's Fables) and a hearty seasonal menu with reinvented classics like pork chops with kumquat-Riesling sauce. 558 Castro, 590-2404.

Garaje: This Asian-inflected sports bar/taco joint will draw punters from all over SOMA for its booze-friendly food like mortaditas: a generous pile of beef taquitos with pico de gallo, guacamole, and melted cheese. 475 Third St., 664-0838.
