San Francisco rapper Andre Nickatina began his 20-year recording career under the name Dre Dog, with an album called The New Jim Jones, a reference to the notorious cult leader. Since then, he's largely eschewed the media spotlight, preferring to work below the radar — though the Internet has helped him maintain pockets of fans across the world. His most recent release, the 18-track mixtape Where's My Money?, dropped last year. Promoted with a video for the song "Jelly," which carried strong BDSM undertones, the tape was a step even further underground for the rapper. Ironically, considering his music toys with such adult imagery, rap fans age 6 and up are welcome to watch Nickatina play a rare show in S.F. this week.
