Classic Activism

Wednesday, May 22 2013

Gloria Steinem and Letty Cottin Pogrebin, the journalists, speakers, authors, and activists who co-founded Ms. magazine in the early 1970s, come to S.F. to discuss coping with illness, as well as Pogrebin's latest book, How to Be a Friend to a Friend Who's Sick. Steinem is co-founder of the Women's Action Alliance, the Coalition of Labor Union Women, and Choice USA, among other organizations. Pogrebin is the author of several nonfiction bestsellers, including Growing Up Free, Getting Over Getting Older, and the novel Three Daughters.
