it's a bird, it's a plane, it's... you

From the patriotic style of Superman and Captain America to the brooding revenge of Batman, superheroes hold a special place in the heart of American culture. After all, hasn't everyone stared out the window and dreamed of being super? Of flying through the air or foiling bank robbers instead of sitting behind a desk? Well, we can all live out that fantasy this weekend at the Superhero Street Fair. Okay, so it won't give anyone spidey-senses or X-ray vision, but it will be a good party, and a chance to channel our inner superheros. Participants are encouraged to personalize their costumes to create custom-made superheros, and for the truly enthusiastic, there are activities like the "Hero's Courage" climbing wall, a Cosplay costume contest and a superhero boot camp. There is also a super-helping of music. The festival features seven stages, run by 17 different sound camps, with tunes ranging from house to dubstep to reggae. Participating sound camps include Beat Church, Symbiosis and Housepitality.
