Andytown Coffee Roasters: The Outer Sunset's new coffee roaster comes via a former Blue Bottle lead barista and her musician husband. The menu's Irish influenced – soda bread is a signature snack – and lunch and more is on the way. 3655 Lawton, 753-9775, andytownsf.com.

Chocolatier Blue: Valencia gets another fancy chocolate place with this truffle emporium, which features unique flavors like French Toast (with maple syrup and cinnamon) and Between the Sheets (lemon, brandy, rum, and triple sec). 904 Valencia, 648-1010, chocolatierblue.com.

Il Casaro: Neapolitan-style pizza spot now open in the former Steps of Rome, offering wood-fired pizzas, house-made mozzarella, and fried bar snacks until late. The acting pizzaiolo comes from Tony's. 348 Columbus. 677-9455, ilcasarosf.com.

San Francisco Fried Chicken Company: Pretty much exactly what it sounds like, this fried chicken emporium serves drumsticks, thighs, breasts, wings, and more until 2 a.m., and will likely give Golden Boy a run for its late-night money. 362 Columbus, 989-5443.

Smitten Ice Cream: Hayes Valley's popular ice cream company – known for its gimmicky-yet-delicious method of freezing its product on the spot with liquid nitrogen – has opened its third location in Rockridge. 5800 College Ave., Oakland, (510) 594-7630, smittenicecream.com.

Terra Cotta Warrior: S.F.'s third restaurant featuring the cuisine of the Chinese province Xi'an has moved into the Sunset. Expect hand-pulled noodles, plenty of lamb, and soupy dishes with broken flatbread instead of noodles. 2555 Judah.

  • U2 @ SAP Center in San Jose
Last night U2 performed the first U.S. date of it’s Innocence + Experience tour at SAP Center in San Jose. All four band members were present despite recent injuries sustained by both Bono and Edge. The sold out show took audience members on a walk down memory lane as the band revisited their roots. The innovative stage and lighting used gave the arena show an intimate feel, and engaged audience members in all sections of the venue. Photographs by Sugarwolf.
  • Bay to Breakers 2015 - NSFW
The 103rd annual Bay to Breakers 12K race was packed on Sunday despite the cold weather. With a starting point a few blocks from The Embarcadero, people dressed as bananas, Elvis and everything in between ran west through the city and finished at the Great Highway where breakers crash onto Ocean Beach.
