Six Brady

Never mind Maiden Lane and its ladies who lunch with Danielle Steel -- Six Brady is where the girls with a little cash to spare go to shop for funky designer frocks without the downtown hoopla. Fun and fashion forward, John Michaud's little boutique is a near-hidden treasure, wedged between Louie Hair Salon and Bell'occhio (a ribbon shop) on teeny-tiny Brady. It stocks all the William B and Katayone Adeli a girl could want, plenty of basic tees (Michael Stars, Urchin, Mon Petit Oiseau), plus jewelry crafted by local artisans. When Courteney Cox came into town to get married last year, she bought out half of the store and placed orders for more. Indulgence recommendation: Have a champagne lunch at Zuni, cross Market to have your hair cut and colored at Louie, then, while waiting for the color to take hold, go next door -- silver foils and all -- to Six Brady and ask lovely Eulalia to help you restock your wardrobe.
