USF Koret Health & Recreation Center

If smells of sweat and visions of dark, overcrowded workout rooms pop into your head when you think about exercising, you obviously haven't been to the Koret Center. To begin with, this stunning facility boast 40-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. It also sports a gorgeous Olympic-size pool open daily for lap swimming, four basketball and five racquetball courts, a weight room, a martial arts room, an aerobics room, and more than 60 machines in "cardiovascular alley" near those wonderfully oversized windows. Absolutely the most visually pleasing workout place around. And you don't even have to join! You just buy a "red" card for $65, which entitles you to 15 visits. The only caveat: If you don't live in the neighborhood and are not a USF student, you can only use the facility until 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday. However, there are no restrictions Friday through Sunday. If you do live in the neighbor- hood (boundaries are Third Avenue, California, Lyon, and Fell), you can buy a "gold" card for $10 more and use the facilities any time you want.
