At Archangel, robed Russian Orthodox monks with courteous smiles and copious facial hair sell books and icons for the budding Christian visionary. This Byzantine Borders is one-stop shopping for gorgeous prints, crucifixes, and Gregorian chant CDs. Several nights a week, they also serve coffee and snacks for lectures and discussion circles with topics such as "The Mountain of the Servants of God: The Monasticism of the Syrian East." All are invited to participate, they say -- Orthodox and non-Orthodox, Christian, and pagan.
