You may say going to the gym is not a fashion show. You may say you don't care what you look like, or what you wear, that you hardly notice the other people sweating and grunting around you. Oh, yes, you may say that, but the folks at Crunch know better. Crunch, a fitness chain in seven cities around the U.S., offers a little more than hard bodies at its San Francisco gym. It also offers provocative silhouettes of those bodies behind the translucent glass of strategically placed showers. Walk upstairs to the locker rooms and you can see them -- naked shadows splashing behind gauzy glass, women on your left, men on your right. Don't get us wrong -- you don't need a perfect body to work out at Crunch; on the contrary, the atmosphere is comfortable, and all shapes and sizes are welcome. The only prerequisite is the knowledge that someone might catch a hazy glimpse of you au naturel as you rinse off after a grueling workout.
