Paradise Drive, Tiburon

There's a reason that most of the multimillionaires in the Bay Area live in Tiburon: It's breathtaking. While all the tourists jam Sausalito, lesser-known Tiburon is a destination for local residents in the know. It's got a modest downtown with nice little ice cream shops and bike rental joints, but if you keep heading east through town there's a long expanse of sidewalk along the water that's perfect for a lazy stroll. Park in the Tiburon Railroad-Ferry Depot Museum lot at 1920 Paradise (it's free for one hour) and enjoy the best view of San Francisco, the Golden Gate, and the bay without driving out to the Marin Headlands. Yachts and rowboats dot the inlet on the weekends. It's like being on the California Riviera. And after your walk, be sure to head into the hills to check out the palatial houses.
