The enormous Giftcenter & Jewelrymart in SOMA houses more than 125 gem and jewelry sellers hawking their goods at rock-bottom wholesale prices. To enter you have to call one of the sellers and be put on the guest list, because the Jewelrymart's not open to the public. But once you get past the security guards, you can save anywhere from 30 to 50 percent on everything from costume jewelry to watches to gemstones. It's easy enough to get on the list -- it just takes one phone call -- and it's well worth it: We bought a wedding ring here for a mere $500.
