Sure, Pacific Heights has many fine mansions, but there's only one neighborhood in San Francisco so affluent that it makes the gated communities of Orange County bow their heads in shame. Presidio Terrace -- located at the nexus of Laurel Village, the Presidio, and the Inner Richmond -- is small compared to its swankier sisters. Unlike the manors of Nob Hill or Sea Cliff, the homes in this 'hood have a traditional neighborhood look, more enclaves of preposterous wealth than arriviste. Not only do these highly expensive houses claim views overlooking the Presidio, but they're also near the Presidio Golf Club. A region fit for any Danielle Steel or Vanessa Getty, Presidio Terrace is certainly not the place for wretched earners -- excuse us, inheritors -- of less than several million dollars a year.
