Tucked a block off bustling Haight Street, the inviting Love of Ganesha sells eye-catching and inexpensive treasures from Tibet. The owner is wonderfully kind and often offers shoppers tea and pastries with which to warm up as they wander the store. Even more surprising and thoughtful is the ornately decorated meditation room, in which you can take off your shoes and sit peacefully surrounded by Hindu gods, fragrant incense, and candles. Once refreshed and ready to explore, you'll find colorful hand-woven scarves made from recycled kilim rugs, hand-painted nesting dolls of Hindu figures, and therapeutic soaps in every aroma. The shop also stocks hundreds of pieces of silver jewelry and a selection of ornately embroidered clothing (for both the sexy and the modest dresser). Finally, if you're into fragrances, Ganesha may have the largest assortment of incense in the Bay Area, which is quite an accomplishment.
