Chloe's Closet and Chloe's Other Closet

451A and 443 Cortland (at Moultrie), 642-3300, www.chloescloset.com

There's nothing more frustrating than realizing your kid has outgrown her clothes before she's even worn them. And that particularly sucks when the garment is some über-pricey piece of cute from a specialty boutique. The solution? This Bernal Heights resale shop for kids. Most of the items on offer are in prime shape (although you may see a few pieces that are a little bit worse for wear), and it's a cool place to trade in your little one's hand-me-downs. No need to feel guilty about buying an occasional $50 baby frock; simply swap it once it gets too small and that dress will live on to grace another tiny dancer. The store carries not only clothing, but also accessories, strollers, and more. In early March the boutique expanded, and now there are two separate Chloe's Closets, side by side, with separate entrances. The original at 451A stocks secondhand kids' wear and maternity duds (not a smock in sight!) and a huge selection of new Robeez, the darling and colorful Canadian soft-as-butter leather baby shoes covered with whimsical elephants, lions, and daisies. The new storefront at 443 offers a slew of new toys for babies and tots as well as a large selection of the ubiquitous baby sling, both new and used versions.
