Supercuts may be the McDonald's of hair salons, but if the opinions of a growing number of style-conscious locals count for anything, then at least one Supercuts stylist — Bing Du at the chain's Noe Valley branch — should win awards for her work. Her no-nonsense approach (you're in and out of the chair in 20 minutes flat) might put off those who consider head massages, free coffee, and slatherings of expensive sprays and serums to be an integral part of the experience. But if your idea of a great haircut is walking out of a salon with luscious, goop-free tresses and a wallet that weighs almost the same as it did on the way in, then Bing is the stylist for you. After all, why spend $80 on a haircut when you can spend $20 and like the results better?
