Ritual Coffee Roasters uses beans from Stumptown of Portland, Ore., in its blends, making for a creamy, thick espresso that'll pick you up like a shot of adrenaline. The Mission District caffeine hub also takes care to present its drinks as works of art, each cappuccino displaying a distinct leaf pattern in its foam. Sure, word spread about this place long ago, and Ritual has lived up to its name for more than a few customers, but the taste of its beverages makes it tough to go anywhere less discriminating.
