Medjool Rooftop Bar - CLOSED
The choices up top are considerably reduced from what you can command in the downstairs restaurant or cafe — essentially just some mezes (hummus, tabouleh, baba ghanouj), salad, and skewered meats and shrimp — but the airy rooftop aerie above Medjool is delightful, whether it's a warm summery evening or a cool fall one (heaters on). The view is surprisingly long, given that you're only on the fifth floor, and the city looks beautiful. You can sip wine, beer, or well-made cocktails and feel like you're in your own private souk under one of the canopied areas until 2 a.m. on weekend nights (hours vary). Caveat emptor: It's cash only, and the ATM on the ground floor charges quite a premium.
