A classic neighborhood restaurant that's worth a visit, no matter where you live, this three-level, warm and pleasant spot is located in Glen Park's tiny shopping district, offering a seasonal menu of internationally accented American comfort food with plenty to satisfy everyone. The kitchen isn't afraid of rich (a signature dish is baked macaroni, with a dense sauce that combines four cheeses to good effect; a nightly p?té plate might include rillettes, foie gras p?té, and rabbit terrine) and is fond of spicy (mussels with peppery rouille; zesty seafood gumbo). Lighter appetites may choose from among fresh salads, grilled salmon, and Jamaican barbecued chicken. Return visits are in order if you want to try one of the changing nightly specials (very popular: Monday's fried chicken, Sunday's beef brisket), and Tuesday nights bring a special children's menu. You'll probably hear a few rounds of "Happy Birthday," no matter what night it is.
