Comments (0) Best New Reading Series - 2006
InsideStoryTime at the Rickshaw Stop
San Francisco has a surprising number of good reading series for those who know where to look, but there's always room for more, and local author James Warner has brought us a great new one. The monthly InsideStoryTime is housed at the Rickshaw Stop, a bar and restaurant best known as a haven for top DJs and local indie rock talent. With plush couches facing the stage in a relaxed, lounge-y atmosphere, InsideStoryTime feels less like a literary reading than like the staged reading of a play. The format is usually four selections clustered around a theme: sexuality, outlaws, ambition. Wired contributing editor Joshua Davis (The Underdog) and Jew Boy author Alan Kaufman (Matches) are among local authors slated to appear during the next few months.
