With an estimated 400,000 visitors, the annual Folsom Street Fair (taking place this year on Sept. 24) is not only an epicenter of the leather lifestyle, but it's also the third-largest parade in the state, right behind the Rose Parade and S.F. Pride. Most important, though, is that it's the best place in the city to see public self-pleasuring. Sure, there are homeless people taking care of all sorts of bodily functions out in the open every day, but if you spend all day at the fair, you're pretty much guaranteed to see someone getting his (or her) rocks off. You'll probably also see men wearing nothing but jockstraps, senior citizens in leather bondage gear, piercings in impressive (and hard-to-reach) places, and the occasional public flogging. And because the fair raises about $300,000 for local charities, you can feel extra-good about all that hands-on effort.
