Eugene Robinson should have a phobia named after him: fear of hulking bodybuilders trained in mixed martial arts fighting with a thing for exhibitionism who front bands that play savage, jet engine-loud pummel-core and also dabble in porn and journalism. Unlike your night terrors, though, there's no chance that Robinson is going anywhere anytime soon. His group, Oxbow, released its fifth album this spring, Love That's Last: A Wholly Hypnographic and Disturbing Work Regarding Oxbow, which comes packaged with Music for Adults, a documentary on the act's 2002 European tour and a sterling introduction to the spectacle it delivers on stage. Robinson also just signed a book deal with HarperCollins to immortalize his exploits both in and out (mostly out) of the ring. Top this off with the fact that he's a "consultant" to local porn purveyors (emphasis on "perve") Skullgame.com and you've got the last jack-of-all-trades you'd ever want to meet in a dark alley.
