Yabbies Coastal Kitchen - CLOSED

Within the confines of this cozy neighborhood seafood house you'll find all you need for a fine fishy evening. There's an excellent raw bar featuring several different oysters, which you can have on their own or as part of a cold seafood platter (the smallest of three includes half a dozen assorted oysters, the same number of spicy steamed mussels, four clams, four prawns, half a cracked crab, and the seviche of the day, stylishly served with fresh-grated horseradish, red sauce and champagne vinaigrette, and lemon wedges). Yabbies' cooking is dependable, whether classic and simple (whole steamed Maine lobster with drawn butter) or inventive and complicated (salmon on a bed of mashed potatoes garnished with diced butternut squash and mushrooms in a bath of apple and onion nage). The spicy linguini with clams in the shell and lots of roasted garlic cloves wins best of breed, as does the lovely crme br?lée. There's a good wine list, too.
