If you want to enjoy your smoky ?cue while sitting down in a pleasant restaurant environment, Memphis Minnie?s is almost your only choice in San Francisco. That?s why it?s a good thing that it consistently serves up some of the best ribs, beef brisket, Santa Maria tri-tip, and pulled pork around ? as well as interesting, sometimes eccentric sides (stellar beans, classic potato salad, sweet potatoes, mac ?n cheese, uniquely sweet-and-sour greens, colorful coleslaw, and tender cornbread muffins). You order at the counter, but there are nine tables at which to linger and soak up the kitschy ambience (walls are adorned by plaques with silly sayings and, for some reason, classic rock is the music of choice). You can wash down your meal with a nice selection of beverages, including beer on tap and an array of chilled sake. And we love Memphis Minnie?s banana pudding.
