The Museum Loop
It's a bike tour with a mini Alp d'Huez climb, a museum rest stop, and dramatic ocean views that truly inspire one to want to keep it a secret. Begin the ride at the mouth of Golden Gate Park on JFK Drive. Head west on JFK, wheel past the rose garden and the buffalo paddock, then swing right at the fork in the road (still on JFK). The first glimpse of the ocean rises into view after a small dip in the road. At the beach, turn right onto the cement boardwalk and pedal past the Cliff House and up a short steep incline. At the top, go left onto El Camino Del Mar, then a quick right onto Seal Rock Drive. A short roller-coaster of hills later and Seal Rock Drive turns into Clement. Roll down Clement and turn left onto Legion of Honor Drive. Climb for a bit. At the top sits the Legion of Honor, where you can sit and ponder Rodin's Thinker in the museum courtyard before looping back the way you came.
