We love everything about this little crab shack, magically transferred from the tranquil New England seacoast to an urban corner of busy Market Street: Its snug clean white-walled and tiled room, the tasty food that comes from its open kitchen, and the reasonable prices, whether you're ordering a bowl of creamy clam chowder or a big, beautiful whole Maine lobster. The fish and chips are excellent, featuring Icelandic cod in a crisp batter made with Anchor Steam beer and french fries that are large and floury. The simple lobster roll is stuffed with big chunks of meat, lightly coated with mayo and garnished with a bit of chopped green onion. Avocados are served heaped with your choice of shrimp or crab. The attention to detail is exemplified by the do-it-yourself lemonade, accompanied by house-made sugar syrup, the best way to sweeten a cold drink. Well, we do have three small quibbles: We wish Woodhouse took reservations, and served dessert and coffee!
