Pres a Vi
The small-plates global cuisine featured at the new Presidio outpost of a popular Walnut Creek spot called Va di Vi is complemented by a vast, interesting, well-explained wine list. (No surprise, when you learn that Va di Vi means "it's about wine" and Pres a Vi "captivated by wine," in Catalan.) The wine program at Pres a Vi is truly impressive. In addition to the lengthy international wine list, which is full of surprises among its 350 bottles, there are almost 50 wines available by the three-ounce taste or six-ounce glass. And there's a separate two-sided list offering 16 imaginative and intriguing wine flights, three half-glasses of white, red, or "progressive" (assorted) wines. We love wine flights. This is one of our favorite ways to drink, indeed, one of the best ways to learn about wine. So we find Pres a Vi interesting, educational, and entirely irresistible.
