Comments (0) Best Cheap Pitcher of Margaritas - 2008
Puerto Alegre
Unpretentious and homey, family-owned and operated Puerto Alegre has been around since 1970, serving inexpensive specialties (from the family's region of Jalisco and others) to happy hordes who often can be seen waiting patiently outside for a table to open up. Once inside, those hordes often order a pitcher of margaritas to wash down the tasty fare. Made with what Puerto Alegre terms top-shelf tequila, Grand Marnier, and fresh limes, the price has crept up over the years, but currently six people can each enjoy a well-made and generous libation for $20 a pitcher. (Or one person can empty the pitcher on his or her own. Your call.)
