Best Interactive Kids' Meal San Francisco 2008 - Build-Your-Own Pizza at Puccini and Pinetti
If you find yourself downtown with kids in tow, and you want something slightly more ambitious and comfortable than greasy fast-food outlets or the Westfield Centre Food Court, you could do worse than Puccini and Pinetti. Hidden among the expected spaghetti with butter and cheese and macaroni on the kids' menu is this touch of genius: a build-your-own pizza. Tots choose three ingredients from a list of meats and vegetables. Their toppings are brought to the table, along with unbaked pizza dough in its own little baking pan (no tossing of dough in air permitted!) with containers of tomato sauce and cheese. Kick back and sip a glass of Valpolicella while the kiddies are distracted by spreading the sauce, sprinkling the cheese, and artistically arranging their other ingredients atop the pie. The finished creation is whisked away to the pizza oven and returned piping hot; the little darlings might just be proud enough to finish all of their creation.
