Best Vegetarian RestaurantBurma Superstar
Readers' Choice: Cafe Gratitude As Burma Superstar's extensive and alluring menu states: "Please note, most dishes can be prepared vegetarian — please ask your server." Even nonvegetarians often find themselves ordering an entire vegetarian meal here, right off the menu. We suggest starting with the famous — and filling — samusa soup, made with chopped samusas (deep-fried Burmese curried potato ravioli), falafels, lentils, cabbage, and onions. After you're done with the soup, move on to such dishes as mu shu vegetable wraps, the renowned tea leaf salad and ginger salad, coconut curry noodles, stir-fried pea shoots with wine and garlic, and a number of curries featuring tofu, potatoes, yellow beans, and okra. Amped up with such flavorful ingredients as green chiles, mint, sesame seeds, five spice, and basil, Burma Superstar's food is fragrant and satisfying.
