Best Wedding Invitations - 2009
Weddings are supposed to be fancy, serious occasions, and the invitations you use to announce your wedding should be equally mature: ornate creations of lace and silk and gaudiness — right? Okay, maybe not. Rest assured, nontraditional brides-to-be: Hello Lucky's invitations are nothing like that. Located in SOMA (as well as in London), Hello Lucky is based here but sells all over the world. Its designs are simple, but classy and cute. While the sock monkeys that adorn Hello Lucky's greeting cards don't normally make it onto the wedding fare, the newly engaged will still find stylized birds, steampunk peacocks, and adorable sea lions. Cards are available in digital printing (around $240 for 100, including envelopes), but the real lookers are the old-fashioned letterpress cards ($815 for 100 for two colors). In that case, you have to pay by colors, but it's worth it for the texture. Now that's the right kind of fancy!
