The salon has been a tried-and-true fixture in the city for years, but with its acquisition of former competitor 77 Maiden Lane Salon this year, it has become something of a mecca of follicular design. It features stylists who fuss over the bits that need fussing over — such as what type of conditioning treatment will make your hair feel like silk. You'll receive excellent service, cuts, and color, minus the snobbery. Prices aren't cheap (around $90 for a haircut and style), but a trip to Joseph Cozza is a better investment than buying hats to cover up the mess on your head.
