Basic Training

If you walk by AT&T Park on certain days, you may spot a group of athletes who aren't professional baseball players, but boot-campers with Basic Training, a local outdoor fitness club run by S.F. local Jennifer Pattee. She kicks the trainees' butts up and down the bleachers, then runs them all over Mission Bay. Sometimes they're carrying giant medicine balls and look like they're on the verge of tears. They do this in various locations around the city: the Exploratorium, Pier 23, and the Lyon Street stairs. Their motto: "Sometimes brutal. Never boring." Basically, they're promoting strength through numbers — the number of people who make up the group, and the number of different exercises that lead to physical bliss.

They really are the best! I think I should know after almost 4 years training with Jenn and Basic Training :)
