Best Fine Dining Happy Hour - 2011
For one of the Bay Area's most amazing dining offers, Prospect's happy hour (4-6 p.m.), chef Ravi Kapur offers a taste of luxury with a selection of five substantial bar snacks, like the black garbanzo hummus with crackers; fried cauliflower; or trotter taquitos with avocado crema — $5 each. There is even great value in the wine with $5 glasses of rotating red, white, and sparkling wines selected by sommelier Amy Currens. Bar manager Brooke Arthur is at the top of her game, revealed by the five $5 cocktails also on the list. The coca-leaf-infused Pisco Sour (pisco, lime, simple syrup, egg white, bitters) and the Fleur d'Orange (orange vodka, elderflower, sparkling wine, seltzer) are balanced and delicious. The happy hour menu doesn't demonstrate the full capabilities of the talented crew, but it offers a fun and enjoyable tease.
