The stalwart right-hander — one of the team's youngest players, yet the longest-serving Giant — hurled 21 1/3 innings in the playoffs en route to the World Series title and was touched for nary a run. For a man who has spent much of his career in Tim Lincecum's lanky yet massive shadow, it was a national here-I-am party. As the team begins its championship defense, Cain remains a pillar of one of the greatest starting rotations in this or any year.
